Materials: The Wild Together uses biodynamic and certified organic ingredients of the highest quality and therapeutic nature. All of their products are 100% vegan, not tested on animals, and contain no animal derived ingredients. They are committed to ensuring each product is free from toxic and hazardous ingredients including genetically modified ingredients (GMOs), sulphates, parabens, synthetic fragrances and colours, glycols, silicones, PEGs and phthalates.
When formulating their products, The Wild Together only uses fully traceable ingredients.
Production: The Wild Together sustainably sources more than 130 region-specific ingredients from across the globe and like to cultivate direct relationships with their suppliers where possible. Products are handcrafted by humans (not machines) and produced using traditional techniques that require minimal-to-no heat or water; this not only ensures the efficacy of the delicate botanicals inside the formulations but also has a lower impact on energy consumption. The Wild Together works with producers who are already audited by certifying bodies.
Packaging & Delivery:
The Wild Together’s packaging is made from 95% infinitely recyclable glass, with the other 3% easily biodegradable or recyclable through household recycling programs, and is also FSC certified, where the materials are produced from well-managed forests. The remaining 2% is made up of either lids, pumps or pipettes. These are recyclable but trickier to handle since they need to be stripped down to single source as they tend to contain mixed materials like plastic, glass and metals (in the form of springs for a pump to function) — the brand's upcoming circular recycling program will allow these materials to be safely reused and recycled. Their labels are created on paper, using plant-based ink and a unique biodegradable film. All aspects of their packaging are locally produced and sourced in the UK which lowers the carbon footprint of the packaging.
The Wild Together have created a relationship with their suppliers whereby their deliveries are packaged with biodegradable fillers like corn starch foam and recyclable packaging. They do not accept bubble wrap, plastic, or styrofoam filler.
The Wild Together is aware that the supply chains in general creates far greater social and environmental costs than businesses own operations and therefore works to reduce those costs significantly by focusing on their own supply chains. For them, freight is the largest source of emissions in their supply chain and so, where possible, they work with local suppliers and producers to reduce transit time and total emissions.
Use: The Wild Together’s customers can find care information for all products through individual product packaging and labelling inserted care booklets, and also via their FAQ’s page on their website. The Wild Together offers a 100% happiness guarantee refund scheme.
Disposal: The Wild Together has an initiative called “Project Wild” which means that with every product purchased, they donate a fixed amount towards supporting and shaping initiatives around the preservation of the natural world. These investments support environmental projects, such as protecting forests that improve air quality and absorb carbon, sponsoring wind and solar farms that generate clean energy and replace fossil fuels, and developing greener methods for producing auto parts.
For The Wild Together, sustainability means more than just printing on recycled paper — yes, it’s about the materials they use, but it’s also about the choices they make at every point of their supply chain and behind closed doors. For example, choosing to work with organic extracts which cause less harm to the soil, and printing with non-toxic plant-based inks to avoid exposing workers on the production line to harmful byproducts.
In all that they do, their mantra is, reduce, reuse, recycle — and that is reflected in the measures they have in place in their workspace (which include the ban of single-use plastics).
Responsibility: The Wild Together are in the process of launching a circular recycling program, to allow all the packaging to be safely reused and recycled.
